1. The Pitons. These two aw-inspiring volcanic peaks towering side by side above the sea as Saint Lucia's natural monuments. They are outstanding examples of cultural and natural heritage and are recognized as a world-renowned.The best known features are of course the Gros Piton, Petit Piton and the Sulphur Springs (long advertised as the world's only drive-in volcano). However the site contains many other unique aspects that the Heritage Committee deemed important to preserve.  There are beautiful coral reefs, hawksbill turtles, pilot whales, 168 species of finfish, 148 species of plants including eight rate trees. 

2. Diamond Waterfal, Botanical Gardens & Mineral Baths in Soufriere 

Trek deep into the heart of lush, botanical gardens to Sulphur Springs, a beautiful spot featuring the colorful Diamond Waterfall crusted with yellow, green and purple volcanic minerals. Also a must see are the pristine mineral baths nourished by the dormant Soufriere Volcano. Take a bath on the hot spring. 

3. Piegon Island National Park 

This park is a local treasure open to the public year round. Located on the north side of Castries, the 44 acre island is steeped in centuries of history as the hideout of the notorious French-Jambe de Bois (1550), an 18th century British Naval base and as an American Naval base in 1940. Now it is an outdoor museum, of sorts visitors can enjoy two pristine beaches, hiking trails through tropical forest. If you are up for a challenge head up to Fort Rodney a historic fort set on one of the island's two peaks featuring large cannons.

 

 4. The Soufriere Volcano 

Feeling adventurous? Drive right into the volcano the only known drive volcano in the world by the way. Needn't worry about the volcano activity while you're there. A steam only eruption happened many years ago. The curative powers of the Diamond Mineral Baths near a small waterfall and ambrosial botanical garden are also open to tour.

Where did you go?  Sandals La Toc in St. Lucia 

What were some of your activities?

We did alot of site seeing around the island and spent alot of time at the beach. One of our favorite things was a boat tour we signed up for- they took us around the island, snorkeling and we even got to eat local cuisine for Lunch that day.

What was the best part about your honeymoon? Relaxation and the wonderful service we got at the Sandals resort,

Love to hike? Must do this in St Lucia, it is Pigeon Island National Park. The fee to get into Park cost $5. Fun hike and amazing views once you reach the top.

My Travels

St Lucia is a beautiful island offering so much. We explored the island and loved the fishing villages, had fun taking a mud bath near the volcano (be sure to wear clothes or swim suite you don't mind getting stained), we also explored the waterfall and had so much fun sitting underneath the waterfall.

Hiking the Piton. The highest peak of the island. At the top of this Piton I am sure you can see almost everything on the island.  Towering nearly 3,000 feet above sea level, the majestic peak of Gros Piton, along with its twin peak Petit Piton, dominates the western coast of St Lucia. The lush green slopes of these pyramid shaped icons rise from the sapphire blue waters of the Caribbean, filling the adventurous traveler with wanderlust. The view itself is a classic—the Pitons of Saint Lucia, soaring straight up from the sea's edge Oprah Magazine says that of the five things you must do in your lifetime, a visit to the Pitons is number one. Snaking up the misty, jungle-covered, boulder-strewn mountainsides for the huge views from the top is an experience well worth the hike. Afterwards head to a rest stop for a sumptuous lunch and refreshing swim.

Arriving at the resort you are greeted with a waiting area at the airport of St Lucia very modern, new and nice. With drinks, tv and a short wait until you are picked up to go the the resort. Airport St Lucia Sandals Waiting Lounge. 

From the St Lucia airport you have about an hour and half to two hours of winding roads to the resort or you can take the helicopter like we did and it took 15 min. It was raining and the wind was crazy but it was a amazing experience with views of waterfalls, Pitons and so much more! 

Would highly recommend to book the helicopter on the way to the resort.

 Activities such as hobbie cat included in price. They even have a snorkeling spot included in price where they take you away from the resort and you see even more fish, corals and more!

 Just one of the tasty meals! Steak was just as good as any steak house I have ever been just PERFECT!

 Always a breeze at the beach! Never was hot it feels so perfect!
